No Retina iPad Mini 2 tipped vs new Nexus 7?

July 13, 2013, 6:47am ? Rumors are in, though we should all take them with a grain of salt. First off, coming from the Apple rumors mill ? as reported by Apple-esque tech blogs, the iPad Mini 2 will not sport a Retina display. Citing supply issues and Apple?s production standards, no Retina iPad Mini is joining the market this year.

The good news, still according to rumors, Apple will release a Retina iPad with 7.9-inch display next year.

If true, then what are the ?new features? on the iPad Mini 2? Well, tablet PC pundits say Apple?s new tablet might offer a better dual-core processor, a new back-facing camera with higher megapixels and new colors are also possible thanks to anodized aluminum technology.

Bear in mind that Apple will also release a new mobile operating system this Fall, the iOS 7 which will offer a set of new features, apart from its redesigned user interface. The iOS 7 platform also includes the company?s new music streaming service, better file sharing with AirDrop and improved instant messaging service and voice-only Facetime calling service.

And if Apple will not release a Retina iPad Mini, then it is possible that Google will sell more Nexus tablets. As reported by other tech sites, the new Nexus 7 will offer more pixels per inch than its predecessor?s display. Again, grain of salt, though improving the Nexus 7?s display is the only way to lure customers from Apple?s ecosystem, and also to convince current-gen owners to upgrade to the new tablet PC.

Apple still holds the biggest tablet PC market share, giving it the advantage right off the bat to sell more applications and other content.
